Calendar Help
Please refer to the guides below for any questions you may have regarding how to use and customize your account.Your Account
First Time Logging In:If you are logging into the calendar for the first time as a DMU user, you should be logging in using your DMU ID. If you have already logged into the calendar in another window, Localist will recognize that you have already logged into your account and will not prompt you to enter your login information again.
Q: What if I want to use one of the social media options to login?
A: You may use social accounts to login to your account in the future, but for your first time logging into the calendar, please make sure to use your DMU ID. If you do choose to use social accounts to login in the future, please make sure to review the next section regarding Account Settings before doing so. There are some additional settings you will have to configure on your account to be able to use these login options.
Account Settings:
Once you have logged into the calendar for the first time, hover over your account profile icon beside the search bar and select Settings. Under Account Settings, you will be able to add a photo to your account, and additional (optional) information including your birthday, zip code, and gender.
Social Connections:
To the right side of this window, you will see “Social Connections.” If you would like to use one of your social media accounts to login or invite friends to events on campus, please connect to your social media accounts in this section. Once you have done so, you will be able to use both your DMU ID or social media accounts that you have connected in this section to login to your account.
Notifications:
To adjust the notifications you will receive and how you will receive them, simply select Notifications from the top of the page, directly under the dark purple bar.
Privacy:
To adjust who can see your activity on the calendar, please select “Privacy” under the search bar from the same section (Settings).

Interacting with the Calendar
I'm Intersted':Once you select "I’m Interested" on an event, the event is added to My Calendar in your dashboard (your personal calendar). If it is a repeating event, you will be prompted to select all dates or specific instances.
Once "I’m Interested" is selected, a “You’re interested” message will appear in place of the "I’m Interested" button. To remove the event, you only need to select change dates (recurring event) or not interested (non-recurring event). Then you will be added to the “People Going” box and will be listed on the People Interested roster found on the event’s edit page in admin.
-
You will receive two emails:
Reminder: The day before the event, users who selected "I’m Interested" will automatically receive an email reminder to attend the event.
Review: The day after the event, users who selected "I’m Interested" will automatically receive an email prompting them to review the event.
By default, every event details page includes a Recent Activity section below the filter details, etc.
Those who mark themselves as “I’m Interested” will be notified when someone comments on the event, but the user cannot reply directly to the commenter via email. The only way to respond is by leaving a public comment on the event details page.
When the event becomes a past event, a review button will also be included, as well as any submitted reviews.
Inviting Friends:
By default, every event details page includes an Invite Friends button. When clicked, a box will appear and prompt you to “mention this event to friends” on the calendar platform OR enter specific email addresses.
If the email receiving the invitation is associated an account in the calendar, the individual will be prompted to sign in and the invitation will be available via the notification next to their account, which will take them to their My Calendar page.
If the email receiving the invitation is not associated with an account in the calendar, the link in the email will take the individual to the event’s details page.
Event Submissions
Event Submissions:Are you an employee or department having an event you would like to promote on the Campus Calendar? Just log in to the calendar and select the Submit Event button at the top right corner of the page to begin filling out the Event Submission Form. If your event meets the Event Submission Guidelines, one of our Calendar Admins will approve the event and add it to the Calendar within 2 business days (M-F). Please keep in mind that your event should be submitted no later than 7 business days before the event. This rule not only helps give our Calendar Admins enough time to respond to the submission request but also gives other users enough time to discover your event while browsing the calendar.
