Women's Medical Alliance
The Women's Medical Alliance (WMA) at DMU seeks to advance women in medicine and improve women's health. Some of our activities include: Networking events for female medical professionals in the Des Moines community, allowing participants to form meaningful relationships Participating in health fairs to educate the general public about women's health (e.g. gynecological cancers and screening recommendations) Hosting 4 blood drives in partnership with American Red Cross. The annual Girls in Science Day event, in which we host 200+ elementary school girls at DMU and teach them about different aspects of science and medicine.
