American Society of Microbiology

DMU Student Chapter of the North Central Branch of the American Society of Microbiology promotes interest in microbiological research. The club offers students and faculty an environment to discuss prevalent current topics in the field of microbiology. The club hosts monthly meetings in which students have the opportunity to present current or past research and hear from leading professionals in the field of microbiology. Our club takes a yearly trip to visit a microbiology facility, teaches at local grade schools, attends the ASM-NCB conference, and sends a representative to the national conference annually.
