 n\n \n\nHealthcare professionals.\n\n \n\nDESCRIPTION\n\n \n\nTransgender
 and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals require inclusive\, affirming\, and k
nowledgeable gynecologic care that addresses their unique health needs. Gy
necologists play a key role in gender-affirming surgical care\, particular
ly in counseling patients on surgical considerations. Specialized knowledg
e of perioperative and long-term postoperative care after surgery is essen
tial to ensure optimal health outcomes. As research continues to expand\,
gynecologists remain central to advancing transgender health and advocatin
 g for high-quality\, evidence-based care for this population.\n\n \n\nWith
up to 3% of the population identifying as TGD\, there is a growing need f
or culturally competent healthcare providers who understand the specific m
edical and surgical considerations in transgender care. Studies indicate t
hat while many gynecologists and primary care physicians express willingne
ss to care for TGD patients\, gaps in knowledge about appropriate screenin
g guidelines and best practices remain. This session will equip healthcare
professionals with the essential knowledge and skills to provide equitabl
e\, respectful\, and evidence-based gynecologic care for transgender and g
ender-diverse individuals\, ensuring their healthcare experiences are both
safe and affirming.\n\n \n\nFerrando\, Cecile A. MD\, MPH. Gynecologic Ca
