Session Description:

In this session Drs. Moore and Huggett will first review the Carnegie Foundation report, Educating Physicians: A Call for Reform of Medical School and Residency, and the recommendations that have changed medical education in the decade since the report was published. Next, they will describe the Vermont Integrated Curriculum (VIC) at the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine and the recent transformation from a lecture-based curriculum to one taught primarily with active learning methods.
