The purpose of the training is to educate community service providers on opioid misuse, overdose and how to screen for high risk substance use. The increase in opioid misuse, overdose and high risk substance use results in a significant need for more behavioral health education to all professionals serving the community.

This opportunity will provide information on how to recognize an overdose, how to respond to an overdose and administer naloxone. It will also explain the basics of medication assisted treatment/recovery and an introduction on Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) and how to implement SBIRT.

There will be four opportunities for you to attend this one-day event on understanding the impacts of opioid use for the individual, the community and the nation. Each date will cover the same set of topics, participants should only attend one. There is not a cost to attend.
