Session 3: Best Practices for Creating Effective and Engaged Learning Spaces Online

Series Description:

Students and teachers enjoy a learning environment in which they can engage with content in a meaningful, valuable, and relevant manner, with a vision toward health sciences practice. Creating an engaged learning environment for a robust teaching and learning experience can be as simple as a small paradigm shift. This seminar series will provide philosophies, best practices, and suggested tools for instructors to consider as they plan collaborative and engaging learning spaces that are conducive for beginning the training process for students to become adaptive learners. The series introductory session will present Inclusive education and classroom engagement as the same thing. This will be followed by sessions describing student engagement tools in the in-person, online and hybrid learning environments. The series will end by describing the use of simulations in basic sciences teaching.
