Assessing and Supporting Health and Wellness for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

PURPOSE
Led by a panel of behavioral health experts, Behavioral Health ECHO helps participants learn best practices for treating common mental health conditions and connect with peers from around the state to discuss and learn best practices for identifying and treating behavioral health issues. The curriculum is delivered free through case-based learning strategies using videoconferencing technology.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Identify measurable wellness targets amenable to behavior-analytic intervention in adults with developmental disabilities.
- Apply brief in-visit assessment strategies, including preference assessments and goal elicitation, to surface patient-centered wellness goals and inform shared decision-making.
- Discuss when referral to behavioral-analytic wellness services is clinically relevant, related to dietary, physical therapy, and pharmacologic options.
