PURPOSE
This conference will provide the most current strategies for healthcare providers assisting breastfeeding mothers and babies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Describe typical weight gain patterns for healthy term infants in the first year of life.
• Discuss factors hindering ideal weight gain in infants, including breastfeeding-related factors.
• Discuss the nervous system's role in a baby navigating their environment and how that shows in their bodily posture.
• Identify two important safety steps to do when feeding with baby-led weaning.
• Determine how the lens of infant mental health supports attunement, attachment, and positive parent mentalization so babies can be held safe by those who love and care for them.
